Hello and welcome to our first full, month ahead horoscope! This is an experiment that will evolve in time. Note: long email incoming, might be better encountered on the Substack app.

Thanks for reading! I appreciate your support 🧡❤️🧡❤️

My goal is to flesh out what at least one of the upcoming transits1 means according to your rising sign. I wrote about how to identify your rising sign here, but you can also Google this and find other great sources if my instructions don’t make sense to you.

I’m trying to veer toward emergent questions rather than predicting events—there are excellent sources out there if that’s more your interest. With that in mind, you can skip to the section about your Rising Sign or you can read through like an essay. I think each sign’s perspective of the month might tell you something interesting.

To start, let’s look at key moments in the coming moonth2, which starts on June 6th at about 8:37 AM ET and ends on July 5th.

  • We start with a New Moon in Gemini, meaning a conjunction of the Moon and the Sun in Gemini. Interestingly this month they are also conjunct Venus. I see this giving a positive color and a generally sweet support throughout other more difficult moments in the story that’s coming.

  • Next we’ll see Saturn creating tension with a Square to the Moon and then the Sun and Venus over the coming days, around June 8-9. Around the same time, Mars moves into Taurus. A slower planet like Mars changing signs always signals some important shifts.

  • Less loud, but still exciting will be the subsequent move of Venus and Mercury into Cancer around the 17th. This change coincides an opposition between Mars in Taurus and the Moon in Scorpio—for fixed-sign risings, these two actions will interact in interesting ways.

  • Next, the Sun will join Venus and Mercury in Cancer on June 20th. Some call it Cancer Season 🦀 This is fun and I like fun, but I also am always going to try and complicate this idea a little bit—this solar-centric approach to astrology smacks of p*triarchy imo.

  • Following the Sun’s move into Cancer we see our Full Moon in Capricorn on June 21 at 9:18 PM ET. This is an interesting Full Moon that I think reflects a lot of the energy of the month.

  • On June 22 we’ll see the Moon, still very full of light, shift into an opposition with Venus. This is sweet and helps support the Moon in a sign she’s not overly thrilled to be visiting.

  • That support will be appreciated when the Moon shifts into Aquarius and immediately runs into Pluto on June 24. I don’t work with the modern planets all that much, but I can’t hide from the strong Moon-Pluto opposition that’s in my own chart. I always think their interactions are interesting, and I’ll be reflecting on this moment each month probably in some way or another.

  • The rest of the moonth isn’t especially dramatic, with a few key moments like the Moon’s monthly connection with Saturn on June 27, her connection with Mars on July 1, Venus’s Trine from Saturn on July 2nd, and, finally, the Moon’s Conjunction with Jupiter in Gemini on July 3rd.

Cardinal signs are initiator signs. Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn. This moon cycle, three of the inner planets, the Sun, Venus, and Mercury are moving into Cancer and the Full Moon is happening across the Cancer-Capricorn axis. Cardinality evokes starting, leading, controlling, attending, all nuanced by whichever element they are. Look where these signs fall in your chart as a possible focus.

Finally, the Gemini New Moon that started this cycle was also a Venus Cazimi—Venus was centered in the heart of the Sun right alongside the Moon. I’d encourage you to remember this arrangement as we move toward the next Full Moon in Gemini on December 15. An invitation to wonder about the connections between Venus and our Gemini house.

The next moonth ahead horoscope newsletter will come to you all on July 1. My goal is to send these on the Moonday3 before the New Moon, but I also have significant ADHD brain4 so if I decide I need a more rigid schedule then that’ll be how things evolve!
