I’m sending this month ahead horoscope a day late. It’s late, in the sense that we actually saw the New Moon in Leo yesterday at about 7:15AM ET. It’s right on time in the sense that life has been coming at me fast and so this is when I’ve been able to sit, finishing writing, finish editing, and finish sending. Thank you for being patient and for wanting to read this at all <3
The story this moon cycle is pretty much playing out in two moments. Like everything in life there will be buildup, there will be phases of integrating and reflecting afterward. On top of that, they’re only two transits within the context of everything else happening in your chart and your life. Still, we’d expect these to be loud moments this month.
The first moment is Venus entering Virgo at about the same time Mercury stations and then goes retrograde. It’s an image of self-criticism, self-consciousness, self-awareness. The moment of painful realization, the shock of sudden insight. Worrying over something you know won’t change it.
The second moment is Saturn’s overcoming square with both Jupiter and Mars activating in the back half of the month. A bucket of ice dumped on a fire. It might dampen the coals, it will slow down its growth, but most of the ice will simply dissipate, turned to steam in the air. If you needed the fire for warmth, this feels punishing. If you were starting to lose control of the fire, however, that punishment becomes a blessing.
Reminder - this may be easier to read on Substack.com or on the Substack app. And, generally, I’d recommend either over reading newsletters in your inbox!

For the Virgo Risings among us… Venus is there in your First House. This is a good moment, astrologically, even if she’s not thrilled to be in Virgo and she’s not getting the best support from her absent host, Mercury. A visit from Venus to the point in your chart that represents you is a sweet one.
As a Virgo Rising you might think you’re comfortable with some self-criticism, maybe even thrive in it—but what if you weren’t so quick to criticize? What if you put your Virgo skills (observation, planning, analyzing) to taking stock of anything that you love about yourself? From the most superficial to the things you hold at your core. Show some gratitude for yourself.
I accept that this is of that ilk of self-help advice that is… played out at the very least. But gratitude lists are reliable self-help advice because they just work! Sorry! So, Virgo Risings, this is a time when the question is boring and it’s simple and it’s effective: what are you grateful for about yourself?
Consider the square between Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter/Mars in Gemini: We see the fire lighting up your career, heightening the stakes while the bucket of ice is dumped from within your intimate relationships.
