Upcoming Astrology:
There are plenty of week ahead resources out there (the CHANI podcast is a good one), so I thought it might be more fun to read a focused interpretation of one dynamic in the sky.
A slightly soggy Sag season: The Sun moved into Sagittarius today! This is a generally warmer, more expansive time than the Scorpio days we’re leaving behind or the Capricorn nights we’re approaching. Sagittarius is a changing sign, part animal and part human, galloping freely. Inspiration, generosity, faith. Evocative of the crackling fireplace and a warm kitchen from which you can share food with your people visiting from all over.
However… this year, starting Friday, we have Saturn camped out at the beginning of Pisces and Mars at the beginning of Sagittarius, basically hemming in the Sun from either side as long as he’s in Sagittarius. On one side, Mars, sharp and hot. On the other, tense eye contact with a wet, soaked-through, cold Saturn. Discomfort manifest.
When we look at the history of this dynamic (the Mars in Sag Square Saturn in Pisces) it lines up with American bombing of Vietnam in October 1965 and the Mussolini-led Italian invasion of Abyssinia in October 1935. Cycles of attack, capture, and isolation, despite popular disapproval of the military actions in question.
To my eye this is an invitation more than ever to take care of each other. I don’t see arrangements like this as suggestions of inevitable suffering, but something like a reminder of that suffering’s cyclical nature. It will end and become something else and likely come back, but, in the meantime, we have to take care of us.
A few things I’ve written before:
I’ve had some ups and downs lately and am taking it easier this week - and as part of that I’m going to re-share two older newsletters I wrote that you might have missed previously:
A post I wrote about the theory behind the Saturn return: This is an interesting theme to consider as Saturn begins moving forward again in Pisces. For those of us with Saturn in Pisces, the energy will be bigger here once again.
A recent-ish post about Venus and Libra and relationships: Venus is once again vulnerable to Mars, as Mars shifts out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius. This time, however, we might see Venus holding her own to a greater extent: she’s at home in Libra and she holds a superior stance to Mars. We might consider now a good time to work with intentional conflict in relationships.

Always a lot of credit goes to the people who have been my teachers, both directly and through their freely shared knowledge, and so many books.
